Section 137 Grant

Under Section 137 of the Local Government Act 1972, Ludgershall Parish Council has discretionary powers to award grants to local groups or organisations for “purposes, which may bring a direct benefit to the area or any part of it for some or all the inhabitants”. 

To be considered for a donation, applicants must complete the application and send it to the Parish Council and provide necessary details as requested. Groups will also be required to provide the Parish Council with their annual accounts if they wish to be considered for a grant.  Currently, the Council set their budget for S137 donations in line section 137(4)(a) of the Local Government Act 1972 for parish and town councils in England whereby the current amount per elector is set at £8.41 per elector.

Ludgershall United Charities

Residents are also able to apply for grants through the Ludgershall United Charities. these grants are available for keeping warm in winter needs and / or equipment for apprentices and trainees starting their training. Please note that whilst applications should be made to the Parish Council the trustees of the charity not the Parish Council will assess any and all applications.
